AMY BAKER

"Our life story is written into our body. Our body is the immediate environment through which all
of our physical experiences are interpreted. Because we are living a physical life, it is
necessary to know our bodies if we are to know ourselves."

Amy is a Forrest Yoga Teacher that brings a wealth of knowledge, humor and Amy Bakerenthusiasm to her teaching. She received her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science and has been certified by the American College of Sports Medicine for ten years. Within her own practice and as a teacher she is committed to going deep into the body, powerfully connecting with the core, releasing physical and emotional toxins, and filling up with a more rich connection to spirit. In her classes you will be supported and challenged to go deep, find your truth, and take these gifts off the mat and into the rest of your life.

Other interests, besides practicing and learning about yoga, include — but are NEVER limited to — road and mountain biking, hiking with her dog, and playing/traveling with her "amazing" husband and friends!

Amy believes that it is vital to "walk the walk" and "talk the talk." At Dogma Athletica she believes that the values of each coach/trainer/instructor form a culture of integrity that will inspire people to live healthier and more fulfilled lives.

"Amy Baker has been my personal trainer for over four years. She has designed and implemented workout routines for my husband and me, which keep us fit, agile and motivated. During our sessions with Amy, she manages our time together so that Matt and I have workouts that are structured to our individual needs. She keeps both of us motivated during the hour, running back and forth to make sure we are always focused.

The session always ends with a relaxing assisted stretch. It amazes me how she always has new exercises for us that keep it interesting and challenging. If we want to focus on a particular area such as flexibility or ski conditioning, she is able to direct our workouts for success.

My workouts have had an unbelievable effect on my tennis game and skiing. I have increased strength, agility and confidence and am ready to take on new sports and challenges. Amy is very knowledgeable, and incredibly fit role model who is committed to helping us achieve our goals. We admire Amy's professionalism and enjoy her personality; we look forward to our sessions together. She is the embodiment of athleticism.

We have incorporated yoga as part of our overall fitness plan. Amy is able to readily identify modifications needed to maximize the benefit of each pose. Her verbal cues and her gentle touch guide me towards continued improvement. With each session I can feel where more space has been created inside my joints and muscles and I leave with a feeling of inner lightness. Yoga has given me a deeper awareness of my body and I know that each session will bring about a different challenge."
